Using Primavera Activity Leveling Priorities

Primavera allows the user to specify a leveling priority for each activity. Activities with lower priority are placed first when leveling the schedule. As explained in the overview, this can help P3e find better schedules. However, since PSOP intelligently searches many priority orders, manually specifying leveling priorities generally hurts PSOP's performance. For this reason, PSOP ignores the Primavera leveling priorities specified in Primavera unless the use Primavera leveling priority option is selected on the Primavera Compatability tab. If this option is selected, PSOP will try to place high priority activities earlier in the schedule even if this causes a longer makespan or increases resource over-allocation.

We recommend leaving this box un-checked as it will allow PSOP more flexibility to find better schedules.
