Compare Start Times Tab
The Compare Start Times tab lists activities whose start times were changed by PSOP.
The table shows only tasks whose start times differ in the PSOP and
Original schedules. For example, the above table indicates that
the task .STEP001 has a start time of 11/23/2003 in the Original
Schedule and PSOP changed its start time to 11/19/2003.
If "Cumulative" is selected in the selection box below the table, all
tasks whose start times were changed are displayed. Selecting a
resource from this selection box will cause the table to show only
activities to which the selected resource has been assigned.
Start times in bold indicate that there is less overload over
the activity's duration when the activity is started at the
indicated time. For example, since the PSOP start time is bold for
activity .STEP007 we know that the total overload during the time this
activity is scheduled to work is less in the PSOP schedule than in the
Original
schedule. If neither column is bold then there is the same amount of
overload during the activity's execution in both schedules. Note that
it may be necessary to move many activities to places that do not
reduce their overload in order to make room to move activities that are
causing overload. Indeed it is sometimes necessary to move an activity
such that the over-allocation increases in order to make it possible to
move other activities so as to reduce total overload. When a resource
is selected in the selection box below the table the bold start times
indicate reduction in over-allocation for the selected resource only.
