How does PSOP handle
relationships to activities in other projects?
It is possible in P3e to define a relationship between two activities that are in different
projects. For example, you might have a finish to
start relationship
between an activity in project A and one in project B. If both projects
are leveled simultaneously, PSOP will handle the relationship
correctly.
When only one of the projects is leveled in PSOP, certain types of relationships are ignored.
Relationships to predecessor activities in other projects will be
honored as long as the activity in the project being leveled does not
have an as late as possible
constraint. Relationships to successor activities in other projects
will be ignored. P3e handles constraints to projects not
being leveled in the same way. PSOP will produce a warning
message if a relationship to an activity in another project had to be ignored.
