PSOP says it may be impossible to achieve the same duration and overload as the original schedule. Why?
A PSOP schedule is considered better if it either has less
over-allocation than the original schedule or if it has the same amount
of over-allocation but a shorter duration. In some situations it may be
impossible for PSOP to produce a schedule that is better. This can
happen if the original schedule is inconsistent (more information...).
Even if the original schedule violates activity relationships or
constraints,
PSOP will honor them. PSOP might therefore produce
a schedule that is longer, has more overload, or both, but this
schedule will be consistent with your rules, and therefore, presumably,
preferable.
Note that if you request a deadline in the leveling options that requires the PSOP schedule to be
shorter than the original schedule, PSOP may produce a schedule with more overload than the original schedule.
